Emu Oil - Uses & Benefits

Emu oil contains high amounts of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), antioxidants, and compounds. Emu oil is high in omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. These help to reduce inflammation, ease muscular pain, and arthritic joint pain. By nourishing the skin cells they may also help to relieve the signs of wrinkles, scars and blemishes. Research also shows that emu oil may help to increase healthy skin cells reducing the appearance of wrinkles, rejuvenating aging or sun damaged skin.  Emu oil has also been recommended for use in the treatment of skin conditions such as alopecia, rosaceae, hypopigmentation, shingles, and dermatitis.

Emu oil contains substances called terpenes which bugs abolutely hate, so applying the oil to your skin before going outdoors can actually help to keep insects at bay.
